Marmot rocks Northwales
Teamtrip into the Trad-state
Something new had always been a special excitement in performing my passions. Thus it is the same with climbing and mountaineering. For this reason I started with pleasant anticipation together with the Marmot-Pro's Sarah Seeger, Jorg Verhoefen, Gerhard Hörhager, Stefan Glowacz, Markus Bock, Robert Jasper, Dodo Kobold und the climbing Photographer (or better photographing climber?) Reinhard Fichtinger direction to Manchester. Together with the British Marmots guided by Steve McClure we tried to rock hard at the famous climbing areas around Clanberries. Northwales, affected by deep green pastures and calming wideness, was cool and wet as usual. But as well the rock is used to it, so it dries quickly and we could visit a different area with different rock every single day. Personally I liked the dreamy, quiet region a lot, with hundreds of sheeps, cows and horses living in the true paradise. The climbing is unusual - foremost the fact, that most of the protection points have to be placed by yourself - but interesting. Together with Jorg we could climb some "classics". At the world famous seacliffs of Gogarth we had in "metal guru" - at rough sea, gale-forced winds and incredible rock structure - an extremely exciting adventure, which will be treasured for a long time.
