A relaxed south-bound trip
Already for the fourth time Vroni, Mira and me have been in the pull of the dreaded south. Sicily is well known for its crime, but less known for its relaxing effect at some regions. Driving one and a half hours from the wonderfull historic city center of Palermo directly northwest, you can reach such a magic region around San Vito lo Capo. Such regions are the ones I am searching for my entire life. But what is it, what makes this magical pull? Its not only the perfect shaped rock and the incredibly kind people of this region. No, it is a lot more the boundless power of silence which someone can find over there, if someone wants to. And exactly this silence Vroni and I needed, because we both started this long time desired trip on antibiotics due to bronchitis. Therefor our climbing activities have been quite limited, we had more to do with recovery and protection. Anyhow the time down there was extremely relaxing and at the end I still could score some cool lines for my routebook. But one thing came out very clear at this trip. I am no longer looking for preferably pumped forearms and the quantity of hard climbing - I am on the search for quality, as I already found it that often.
