Intensive & impressive - Lyngentrip
Intensive & impressive - Lyngentrip

While listening to the atmospheric beats of the swedish band "Fever ray" I am thinking back to the incredible time during the last two weeks in Norway. Benedikt PurnerKlaus Kranebitter (Photo), Hannes Mair (Film) were on the way with me to Lyngen, at the very north of Norway. Far above the polar circle, at about 70 ° North we were part of an amzing atmosphere, hosted in an incredible panorama. When looking at the globe you find out that Lyngen is as far north as the middle of Greenland, the norther tip of Canada or Alaska! The mountain chains are starting right at the beach of the Lyngen fjord, an impressive combination. Ther are magic places on earth - the Lyngen fjord is defenitely one of them. I am looking back to one of my most intensive, impressive and sucessfull ice climbing trips I have ever done. At constant temps between -8°C and -22°C it was freezing cold, but we found an endless paradise for ice climbing. Our programm was intensive, we wanted to climb as many lines as possible. By far we could not climb all of the lines we saw. Klaus an Hannes worked full-time to bring the climbing action and the atmosphere onto their cameras, to edit the material at the evening and additionally to catch some of the impressive northern lights at night.
